F.A.Q. About Gaming Servers:
Q. Why lease a game server?
A. When you have your own server, you control who plays on the server, it's configuration, and the map rotation. You also have access to remotely control the server. Teams who play competitively find that it is much easier to practice, host matches, and recruit new talent on their own server. Also you don't have to worry about the big costs and factors when you lease (rent) a server.
Q. What is a duration of a server rental contract?
A. Server rental contracts usually run on month-to-month, however I/we have seen week-to-week and year-to-year. It's all about the server host. Week-to-week is usually for tournaments and league scrims.
Q. What is the difference between a Public and a Private Server?
A. Public Servers are open to anyone that wants to join from the Public and contain no password. Private servers are passworded at all times and are mainly used by clans for practices and league matches.
Q. My clan would like a free server will you sponsor us?
A. I've heard this question many times over and many server hosts offer "sponsorships" that usually include branding of the server host's name on the server. Lately, due to costs I/we have seen server hosts that used to sponsor, have removed that option.
Q. What about refund policies?
A. Some but not all gaming server hosts offer a refund, either part or whole and in different time periods, from hours to days. Server Hosts that care about their customers should throw in a money back refund if the customer is not satisifed. Though we all would like to see that, a lot of hosts do not; not saying they aren't a good host however that can only add to a great service.
